Health and Wellness

Health and Wellness Programs

Through health prevention, education, and medical services, Silvergate’s Wellness Programs are designed to improve and enhance resident’s quality of life while maintaining one’s ability to engage in everyday life activities. Silvergate is proud to have the oversight of resident’s health and wellbeing by a Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse daily.

Health Talks

As part of ongoing health education, guest speakers from various fields of medicine share the latest research and knowledge from their area of expertise. These presentations are typically one hour in length and free of charge.

On-Site Prevention Services

An annual Flu Vaccination Clinic is held in the fall for all residents interested. There is a nominal charge for the vaccination, but administered for free by the nurse.

Monthly visits by mobile physicians, podiatrists, and audiologists are available at Silvergate. Arrangements to use these services are coordinated through our Director of Resident Care. Transportation is also available to take residents to their local physician and medical services of choice.

Health Screenings

Monthly weight and blood pressure checks are offered to all residents by our nurse at no charge. Routine, and as needed blood pressure checks can be accommodated by our Director of Resident Care.

Fitness Classes

Residents receive a free membership at the 24 Hour Fitness Club in San Marcos, or Fitness Plus in Fallbrook. Both are located steps from Silvergate’s front door. Exercise equipment with trainers, fitness classes, and Swimming are available at no additional costs.

Daily physical fitness classes are offered on-site such as Sit-and-be-fit, chair tai chi, and walking club.  All to promote strength training, flexibility and cardiovascular health. The classes are for all levels of ability to encourage the start of a fitness plan for all residents.
